Coaches Pitch Baseball

Overview:

The Coaches Pitch tournament is operated by the South Carolina District Administrators as Little League Special Games and is not part of the International Tournament.  This tournament was created as a way to let those players interested in continued play to experience All-Stars. Coaches Pitch is for players that are
league age 6, 7 and 8 during the spring season of the current year.  The District Administrators have developed and had approved some additional/modified rules specifically for the Coaches Pitch tournaments.  These rules will be used in both District and State level of play (SC Coaches Pitch Tournament Rules)

Typical Timeline:

Announcement of Team Members:  The specific date that a league is allowed to announce their Coaches Pitch Tournament team and start practicing will be set by the District Administrators each year, however, as a guideline, the announcement date is typically within the last 2 weeks of May, provided leagues/players have met all eligibility requirements.  Leagues/Teams announcing prior to this date may not be allowed to participate in the tournaments.

District Tournament:  Leagues may enter multiple teams into the District Tournament by notifying the District Administrator.  There is no separate registration/fees with Little League International as this is not part of the Little League International Tournaments.  The District Administrator will set the date each year based upon the State Tournament Schedule and Announcement date.  As a guideline, this tournament is typically held within the first couple weeks of June.  District Tournament locations are set each year at one of the leagues within the District.

State Tournament:  The State Tournament allows teams from each District in South Carolina to have teams participate.  Each District sends two (2) teams, the District Champion and Runner-Up to the State Tournament.  With six (6) Districts in South Carolina, this is a great twelve (12) team tournament.  The State Tournament is rotated between the Districts of South Carolina each year.  The location and date of the State Tournament will be set by the District Administrators each year.  This tournament typically occurs during the last two (2) weeks of June.
