Uniforms are issued to all players before games start by your team's manager. Uniforms will be slightly different this year to reflect the need for players to wear protective face coverings. Pants will not be provided this year. Instead, we will be providing an NCLL-branded neck gaiter. Uniform kits vary slightly depending on the programs/divisions of play as follows:

Equipment:

The NCLL provides almost all of the equipment required for the season although in many cases players may bring their own in which case the equipment should be marked with the player's name. Details on equipment sources and regulations:

Glove (mitt) - Players must furnish their own

  • Players under age 10 usually do best with a glove (mitt) that indicates "YOUTH-SIZED"
  • 11+ players usually do best with an 11.5" glove
  • League provides catcher's mitts but players can bring their own

Bats
- League provides, but players may bring their own bats provided it is Little League approved and shows the approved stamp, Consult the Little League site for bat standards.

Catcher's Gear - League provides but players may bring their own.

Helmets - League provides but players may bring their own.

Protective cup (for boys) - Players must furnish their own.

Recommended clothing:

Players will be issued a team uniform to be worn during games. During practice is it highly recommended that players wear pants to protect their legs from bumps and scrapes. Pants can be either baseball pants or sweatpants.

Cleats or sneakers are recommended for practice and games. Cleats must be molded plastic. Metal cleats are not allowed. There are cleats specific to baseball, but soccer cleats can work just as well.

Otherwise, typical good judgment applies. Warm clothes are recommended early in the season when it's cold. Baseball players can get dirty during practice and play so they should dress in clothes that can take a bit of abuse.
