Rookie Boys Division “coach-pitch”

For League Age 6, 7 yr olds -  Rookie Boys Division for 6/7/8 yr olds is a “coach-pitch” program. The division is normally comprised of teams of 12 players on a team.  Team Managers are expected to hold practice once per week and most games are on Saturday mornings around 11am (with a few weekday games scheduled throughout the season). At this level, players begin to hit a pitched ball from the coaches.  Players are taught basic fundamentals of baseball to prepare them for the next level.  There are no umpires, final scores, or standings for this division.  The playing field used is a 60-foot diamond or 60-foot skin field. Players are given a full uniform by the league.  Team Helmets, Bats, and Baseballs are also supplied to each team manager by the league.  The only equipment parents have to buy for their child is a glove that is properly sized for the players hand and cleats. This is not required to play but we would recommend players wear a athletic supporter (cup) and heart guard shirt.

Minor Boys for league age 8 and 9 yr olds.
For League Age 8 and 9 yr olds - This is the first division where players are allowed to pitch.   Pitching is from a distance of 46 ft.   Fundamental skills are stressed, but games are played without coaches on the field.  This is our first level where Cadet umpires are used in the game. There are no base on balls at this level – the batter hits off the tee after ball four.  No standings are kept.  The playing field is a 60 ft diamond.
