Important note:  Parents who have their Rutgers' S.A.F.E.T.Y. certification, or who get their certification prior to January 1, AND who commit to coach Rec Soccer in the Fall of 2026 may register their child for FREE for both programs.  Please contact Remy at [email protected] before registering and he will give you the code to register for FREE.  This is a $60 to $70 savings.

Parents do not have to coach the winter clinic, but will need to coach in the Fall.

Winter Soccer

2026 Winter Indoor Soccer

We are offering a winter indoor soccer program for children age 3 to those in in the 2nd grade on Saturday mornings at the Wanaque Recreation Center gym.

Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten BOYS will practice from 10:00 to 10:45
Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten GIRLS will practice from 10:50 to 11:35; and
First and Second graders will practice 11:40 to 12:25.

There is only 5 minutes between sessions. If you arrive a little early for your session, please have your child wait with you on the bleachers until their session starts.

*Like previous years we are allowing parents to comment on what grade level they would like their child to play (example, junior is in pre-school but you feel he has remarkable skills and should play with 2nd graders, please indicate that you think he should play with first and second graders). We are not guaranteeing that we will always be able to place them outside their level, but we will try.

No siblings other than those who will remain in a stroller or carrier are permitted to accompany parents.

The first practice is the first Saturday after the new year, and the last is on March 7. There will be a few Saturdays when we won't be able to have soccer (Feb 14 is a given, but there may be others). There are no make ups for snow days, or black out days.

This is an instructional program. Teams are not assigned. There will be a scrimmage near the end of each practice where players will be assigned differently each week. Players should wear shin guard and sneakers, and they should bring water.

We do not have a winter program for older children. However, the Lakeland Jr. Soccer Club* has a Spring program. Registration for their Spring season opens in November. You can find more details on their program at

* Lakeland Jr. Soccer Club was formed a few years ago by the merger of the Ringwood and Wanaque Travel Soccer programs. Teams are coached by parent volunteers and training is conducted by both those volunteers and Red Bull trainers. Home games are played in both Ringwood and Wanaque.
