SDLL Board of Directors Election Process
South Durham Little League (SDLL) is an all-volunteer organization providing Little League Baseball® and Little League Softball® programs for more than 1,100+ players (ages 4-16) annually. Parents and others are needed to volunteer their time and talents to help ensure the success of the league by helping with the following activities: coaching coordination, player safety, registration, finances, field maintenance, fundraising, business/legal management, equipment management, uniform orders, team pictures, scheduling (teams, umpires, etc.), communications, social media, information technology and data management.
Serving as a member of the SDLL Board of Directors is a rewarding experience. A strong baseball or softball background is not required. Board Members must attend monthly meetings and are expected to assist with league-wide functions such as player evaluations, SlugFest, equipment distribution, field maintenance and serve on committees when called upon. Board Members are asked to serve a two (2) year term, and the number of coaches serving on the Board of Directors shall not exceed a minority of total Board Members.
New Board of Directors Appointment Process
In September 2022, the SDLL Board of Directors voted to eliminate the position of Member-at-large on the SDLL Board of Directors. Therefore, anyone interested in a position on the Board of Directors must indicate their preference and any applicable skills/talents that would pertain to the position(s) they are applying for on the Board.
