LYBL WINTER SEASON IS HAPPENING!
Very exciting news! The LYBL Board met last night and determined that we will move ahead with an abbreviated Winter Season for our town Mixed (Boys and Girls) Divisions!
Registration will open this week until February 8th for boys and girls, 1st grade through 9th grade. Teams will be set for Bitty (1st and 2nd grades), Instructional (3rd and 4th grades), Juniors (5th and 6th grades), and Seniors (7th through 9th grades) before the Winter Break over Valentine's Day weekend. The first practices will be February 18th, and the season will run until March 27th. Registration will be limited to boys and girls who either reside in Ledyard or attend school in Ledyard. Cost will be $35 for Bitty (which includes a t-shirt) and $45 for all other Divisions. Uniforms will be purchased at registration if needed. Uniforms purchased in previous seasons can still be used. There will be no evaluations, and parents will be asked to provide height and overall basketball skill level at registration.
All CT DPH COVID-19 protocols will be strictly followed, including mask wear at all times even during active play and no spectators in the gyms.
The Southeast CT Girls League where our girls travel teams play each year shifted its season to the early spring. That season will be played outdoors and will run for 8 games from April 10th until the end of May, 3rd through 10th grade (high school players cannot play). Girls are welcome to register for both the Ledyard Mixed League and this league as the seasons will not overlap. Girls must tryout for the travel teams. Registration for the travel teams will open a few weeks after the Mixed League registration.
