Lower Division A Baseball Overview

AGE RANGE:  Players Little League Ages 6-7, as defined by 2023 Little League Baseball Age Chart.

Lower Division A baseball is the first level of our instructional Minors baseball programs. “A” Ball is geared toward teaching sound baseball fundamentals such as proper throwing, fielding and batting techniques. The “A” program is your child’s first opportunity to hit a pitched baseball (an adult pitcher will pitch to your child). Should the player not put the ball in play from the coach-pitch, they are given opportunity to hit from a Tee.  Your child will play in all of the defensive innings and will bat in all innings of a regular game.

We will attempt to place players on teams grouped roughly by neighborhood elementary schools. If you would like to request a “buddy” for your player to be assigned on a team with, will not 100% guaranteed, please coordinate with the other family before registering we will need "mutual agreement" for cross-referencing.

  • Teams will be capped at 8 players per team, and might grow to 9 total.
  • Total number of teams is ultimately determined by the total registrations and number of league Manger volunteers.

Lower Division AA baseball is the second level of our instructional Minors baseball programs – it’s for players who have at least one year of “A” Baseball experience. “AA” Ball features a more aggressive style of play and is designed to help your child make the transition from Minors (instructional) baseball to the more competitive Upper Division baseball at AAA. “AA” focuses on good baseball fundamentals.

Games include a modified “Player-pitch” and "Coach Pitch"

  • Kid pitchers will pitch from 40 feet from home plate.

  • Players are limited to 50 pitches or less per game and will be required to following LL Blue Book rules for required days rest before pitching again.
  • Runners cannot advance any futher when the fielder has attempted to make a throw to another defensive teammate covering a base (infield and outfiled).
  • No stealing ofr advancing on wild pitch/passed ball.
  • Your child will play in at least 3 of the 4 defensive innings (more defensive innings if more innings are played), but may not necessarily bat each innings since outs are recorded.
