Lower Division A Softball Overview

AGE RANGE:  Players Little League Ages 6-7, as defined by 2022 Little League Softball Age Chart.

Lower Division A softball is the first level of our instructional Minors softball programs. “A” Ball is geared toward teaching sound softball fundamentals such as proper throwing, fielding and batting techniques. The “A” program is your child’s first opportunity to hit a pitched softball (an adult pitcher will pitch to your child). Should your player not put the ball in play, while at bat, they are given on opportunity to hit from a tee.  Your child will play in all of the defensive innings and will bat in all innings of a regular game.

We will attempt to place players on teams grouped roughly by neighborhood elementary schools. If you would like to request a “buddy” for your player to be assigned on a team with, while not 100% guaranteed, please coordinate with the other family before registering we will need "mutual agreement" for cross-referencing.

  • Total number of roster players is ultimately determined by the total registrations and number of league Manger volunteers.

Lower Division AA Softball Overview

AGE RANGE:  Players Little League Ages 7*-8, as defined by the 2022 Little League Softball Age Chart.

League Age 7 players must request play-up request in registration process and receive approval

Lower Division AA softball is the second level of our instructional Minors softball programs – it’s for players who have at least one year of “A” softball experience. “AA” softball features a more aggressive style of play and is designed to help your child make the transition from Minors (instructional) baseball to the more competitive Upper Division softball at AAA. “AA” focuses on sound softball fundamentals.

Games include a modified “kid-pitch” consisting of 3 pitches from 35 feet to start the at-bat.  If the batter does not put the ball in the play, or only receives “Balls” and adult pitcher who will pitch to your child from a distance of at least 35 feet with a underhand softball pitch. There are strikes and strikeouts, and outs are recorded (three outs will retire the side). Your child will play in at least 3 of the 4 defensive innings (more defensive innings if more innings are played), but may not necessarily bat each innings since outs are recorded.

We will attempt to place players on teams grouped roughly by neighborhood elementary schools. If you would like to request a “buddy” for your player to be assigned on a team with, will not 100% guaranteed, please coordinate with the other family before registering we will need "mutual agreement" for cross-referencing.
