COVID-19 SOFTBALL GUIDELINES

GUIDELINES FOR WESTWOOD YOUTH SOFTBALL

The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) has provided new COVID-19 guidance for sports.

Umpires, Coaches, Players, and Parents are required
to adhere to State of Massachusetts COVID19 regulations and guidance. These safety measures must be strictly adhered to by all players, coaches and spectators to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

If your daughter feels sick, please do not come to a practice or a game.

No touch rule when the ball is not in play– players should refrain from high fives, fist bumps, handshake lines, and other physical contact with teammates, opposing players, coaches, umpires and fans.

No spitting or eating seeds, gum, other similar products.
No team water coolers or shared drinking stations - players should bring labeled individual water containers.

Whenever possible, equipment and personal items should have proper separation and should not be shared. If equipment must be shared, proper sanitation should be administered between users.

For all divisions, the defensive team will supply the ball. For our Junior Division, coaches must remember to sanitize their hands before entering to coach pitch.

Each team will be equipped with two/three sets of catching gear. Face masks should be sprayed with disinfectant after every use.

Parents are encouraged to supply their child with their own hand sanitizer.
