League Purchases:
- new printer and ink purchased
- new toilet and water line repair completed
Player Registration Completed
- 239 players
- 5 major teams; 4 minor teams; 5 Coach Pitch teams; 8 T Ball team
- Major and Minor League coaches have been established; teams were formed via a draft
- T-Ball and Coach Pitch teams honored requests and teams were formed
Opening Day
- April 27, 2019
- Hit-A-Thon for major and minor league
- All teams have been sponsored GPA officers have a meeting scheduled 3-11-19 to assign sponsors to teams
Field Days
- tentatively scheduled for Saturday March 30th and Saturday April 6th at 10am
- Dymatex needs to be put on the fields
- stand and debris clean up needed
Pictures
- tentatively scheduled for May1-2 at Pittston area (location and dates need to be confirmed)
Uniforms
- Pants: white for majors and grey for all other levels of play
- teams names are to be determined
Games
- potentially Inner League with Greater Wyoming Area, play within our league
- tentatively scheduled in league tournament to crown a major, minor, and coach pitch league champion; all Tball players are champions :)
Field Availability
- an App called Team Up, will be used to manage field availability for the 8 GPA fields
- Michael Chaump Vice-President for Avoca/Dupont will oversee the use of this App
Fundraising
- Dick's Sporting Goods coupon profits for league to be determined
- Youth Sports Night at the Penguins profits to be determined
- Team Sponsors and signs totaled $5,000 for the Avoca Dupont League
- Bingo tentatively June 8, 2019 at Seton Catholic Hall (date and location need to be confirmed)
GPA Railrider's Day
- tentatively Sunday August 4, 2019
- 18 kids will participate in the Field of Dreams, kids can run the bases, and be a part of the high five line
Avoca Community Committee
- 2 guest speakers announced at the meeting that they would like to hold a town parade (light/glow) at dusk followed by a movie night on the Avoca Dupont Field
- Date to be determined (event will be discussed further at the Avoca Community Committee meeting Wednesday 3-13-19 at 7pm in the Avoca Borough Building)
- Ideas generated for a parent fun night (corn-hole, kickball, or whiffle ball tournament)
