8U
The age cut off is based on the calendar year. Check out this age determination chart to calculate what age group your daughter will play in. (usually grades 2 through 3)
• All games are played at Deerfield on the field closest to the police station.
• Game 1 should begin promptly at 9am.  You may want to ask the parents to have the players at the field and ready to go between 8:30-8:45am.
• Game 2 should begin 10 minutes after Game 1 ends.  Players should be at the field and ready to go by 9:45am.
• No new inning can start after 60 minutes.
• No forfeit if a team does not have enough players.  Get the game in and borrow players if needed.
• Games are played with 11 inch softie softball
• 8U is a full coach pitch division.  No strikeout.  No walks.
• Batter gets 6 pitches, then bring out a tee.
• Only one player at each position (P next to coach, C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF wherever needed).
• Please rotate the positions often.
• Fielders should wear safety fielding masks.
• A coach should stand behind the catcher to keep the game moving.
• 3 outs per half inning.
• If 3 outs have not been made, and all batters have had an at bat the inning ends.
• No stealing.
• No bunting.

COACHES:
You do not need to keep a scorebook, but it is a good idea to have your lineup written down and to keep track of the score.
There are no umpires for 8U.

10U

• Games are played on Sundays. Double-headers with Game 1 beginning at 9:00am, 2nd game should begin by 11:00am.
• The season starts early September (usually after labor day) and runs through the end of October with the Charles River Softball League. There are no games on Columbus Day.
• The Charles River Girls Softball League includes other nearby towns such as Dorchester, Holliston, Medfield, Natick, Needham, Newton, Parkway, Wayland, Waltham, Watertown and Weston.
• Girls will have the opportunity to work on pitching, catching, fielding, batting, and base running.
• After four balls, a coach from the hitting team will enter the game and pitch from a safe distance.
• Girls will also need a batting helmet with face protection, a fielding mask and a fielding glove (large enough to fit a 11inch softball) Batting gloves are optional.

12U

• The CRSL includes other nearby towns such as Dorchester, Holliston, Medfield, Natick, Needham, Newton, Parkway, Wayland, Waltham, Watertown and Weston comprise the Parkway Girls Softball League.
• Single, 9-inning game beginning at 9:30 am. Hard stop at two hours and 30 minutes.
• There are no practices due to league rules.
• Bats/Balls must be ASA certified
