Willie Mays Division Rules
1. Distance between bases - 65 feet
Distance from pitcher's mound to home plate - 46 feet
2. Baseballs are provided by the Wallen League
Maximum bat barrel size: 2 ¾” - maximum bat length: 33”
Maximum game length: 6 innings
3.All players must play at least 6 defensive outs in the first 4 innings of a legal game, and 9 defensive outs of a full game.
4. The game is over when the final batter’s final at-bat is complete.
No inning will begin after the game has been in progress for 1 hour and 40 minutes. The next inning begins immediately after the final out is recorded in the bottom of the previous inning.
5. Continuous batting order will be used.
Once a team bats completely around its order, that team must take the field defensively. For example, if a team has 12 players, all 12 will bat if there aren’t 3 outs and the 10-run rule doesn’t apply. Once the 12th batter’s at-bat is complete, the inning is over.
6. Players are allowed one appearance (per game) on the mound to pitch a maximum of 9 consecutive outs.
They are allowed 2 appearances per week (Sunday through Saturday).
Travel team players from any travel team may pitch in house league games, but
the number of outs recorded per game for all travel team players combined may
not exceed 9.
7. Stealing 2nd and 3rd base is allowed, only after a pitched ball crosses the plate. A baserunner on 3rd base cannot advance to home on a passed ball, wild pitch, or any throwback to the pitcher. This runner can only advance to home by means of a hit, a hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded, a play on the runner, or a play on another runner.
8. Any batter thrown 6 called balls in an at-bat during a bases-loaded situation will be granted 1st base. All other baserunners will advance, and the runner on 3rd would cross home plate and be counted as a run.
