What to Do If There Is an Accident

The safety of our players, coaches, and spectators is our top priority. If an accident or injury occurs during a Culpeper Little League event, please follow the steps below to ensure proper care and documentation.

Step 1: Ensure Immediate Safety

  • Stop the game or practice immediately.
  • Remove any danger from the area (e.g., bats, balls, equipment).
  • Administer basic first aid or call 911 if the injury is serious.
  • Stay with the injured person until medical professionals or parents arrive.

Step 2: Complete an Incident Report

All accidents or injuries—no matter how minor—must be reported within 24 hours.

Helpful Tips

  • Keep a printed copy of the incident form in your team folder or bag.
  • Make sure all coaches and assistants know how to access emergency contacts.
  • Always have a stocked first aid kit available.

Insurance Reminders

Culpeper Little League carries supplemental accident insurance for all registered players and volunteers. Parents must still file with their own insurance first, and any secondary coverage claims will require the incident form and verification from the league.
