FALLBROOK POP WARNER FOOTBALL PRACTICE REQUIREMENTS

Practice is critical in ensuring each player's safety and development. In order to keep all participants safe, Fallbrook Pop Warner strictly adheres to all National and Conference rules and regulations regarding practice sessions. Please note these rules apply to all divisions - including Flag.

PRE-SEASON PRACTICES for all teams and squads, begin during the first week of August.
It is MANDATORY that participants attend all practices in August.

Practice Times Typically Occur Between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:30pm
*Flag Practices differ - your flag coach will inform you prior to the season

Under national Pop Warner requirements, each player must meet the following practice/conditioning requirements before they can participate in a scrimmage or game:

Practices typically occur 5 afternoons/evenings per week. In order for each participant to achieve the Pop Warner required number of hours of conditioning & fundamental skills training, coaches shall hold the maximum allowed 10 hours of practice time, per week. The 10 hours are typically divided into 5 - 2.5 hour practice sessions per week (5 Days per Week) for the entire month of August. Your coach or team manager will provide you with more details once your player has been assigned to a team.

WEEK #1: 10 hours of conditioning (Helmets, shorts and practice jerseys, no pads), followed by

WEEK #2: 10 hours of player readiness (Helmets, practice pants and jerseys with pads)

REGULAR SEASON PRACTICE: After Labor Day, practices shall be reduced to three days a week. A typical practice is 2.5 hours long. Each player is expected to attend ALL practices unless they are ill or have a required school event. It is difficult for players missing any of these practices to "catch up" to the rest of the team in terms of development and understanding. It also places an unnecessary burden on the coaching volunteers and takes away training and development time from the players that did attend. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the practice commitment, please contact us.
