T-Ball Baseball
League Ages 4-6
League Age 4 may only play with a Head Coach Parent Volunteer. 5-6 years old may be placed in our Big T program which allows players with at least one year experience to see tee work and a coach pitch setting.
Often a family’s first introduction to Little League, providing a Tee Ball experience that is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals. Players will be introduced to hitting, throwing and catching mechanics in a safe and fun environment. Players will learn with wiffle balls along with the regular weight SAFE-T / Tee Ball style baseballs during practices and games. Games are 3 innings in length and every player bats in each inning. No scores are kept during games.
• TEAMS: T-Ball are made up of 8 players per team. Teams are created after registrations have closed and enough coaches available. (If you are placed on a waitlist, there is no guarantee you will be placed on a team until a coach volunteer has signed up.)
• EQUIPMENT AND UNIFORM: Team uniform of hat, jersey, and pants are provided by SLL. Each team is issued a tee, tee balls, wiffle balls, T-Ball bats and helmets. Players may use their own Little League approved baseball glove and if they chose a Little League approved USA Baseball bat. Gloves are required for all players. Comfortable shoes and pants, cleats if the family chooses.
• PRACTICES: Starting as soon as the snow thaws, end of April beginning of May. Coaches preference on how often to practice. Teams will usually have 2 practices per week until the season begins, then 1 game and 1 practice each week. Two teams may do a scrimmage at the same date and time. Practices and games typically last 60 minutes. There will be an hour Saturday Clinic throughout the season. Practices can be included during game nights.
• GAMES: 1 game each week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday). Games are 1 hour in length, either 6p-7p or 7p-8p, and played on Field 3 at the Soldotna Little League Park.
• RULES: The diamond has 50-foot base paths and a 38 foot pitching distance. All players get a chance to bat and run bases as well as play all positions.
• VOLUNTEERS: Parent participation is required on many levels from Coaching, Field Preparation, Team Parent, and parents to stand at all positions to guide tee ballers in the right direction, etc. There needs to be many volunteer parent on the fields for safety issues at this level.
• MANAGER and COACH: Two coaches and one manager may request to be paired together prior to team formation. While attempts are made to honor requests, they are not always guaranteed.

Note: You will only be able to register your player/s for the program they are age-eligible for. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Player Agent. SLL reserves the right to move players from one level to another for safety reasons as well as to accommodate the most players depending on interest at each level. This is done at the Coach and Player Agents discretion.
