Plate umpires $20-$50, field $15-$40 (depending on level)
Adult Umpires only for Intermediate/Seniors Baseball
16+ for Junior Softball and Majors Baseball
Ages 13 and up for Minors Machine Pitch and Field Ump in Majors Softball and under
Payment and scheduling system with biweekly payment
Uniform and training provided by SLL

Youth Umpire Program

Soldotna Little League supports a Youth Umpire program with the goal to provide umpire coverage across Upper Level Divisions and create a quality service to our youth players. The levels covered are in the Minors Player Pitch, Majors, and Junior/Senior Divisions. The frequency of games this program will accommodate will be based on the sign-up and game availability.

SLL will provide training, supervision, and a supportive environment. Youth umpires will be provided for both baseball and softball. SLL will provide:

•Training local clinics. All training is free.
•Umpire uniform shirts and hats to sign out.
•All necessary umpire equipment.

Program Details
Our Youth Umpire program comprises boys and girls aged 13 and older who have experience playing baseball, softball or umpiring, and who have a lot of self-confidence and enjoy the sport. Youth Umpires who are in Majors may field umpire the Player Pitch game and may qualify as a plate umpire depending on experience. As skills and experience grow, they move on to umpire more. First year umpires will start in Minors before moving onto Majors, depending on experience.

• Majors can umpire Minors (upon assessment)
• Seniors can umpire Juniors/Majors/Minors (upon assessment)
• 16 years and older for Seniors
