WELCOME 2023 TEAM PARENT

Thank you for volunteering to support your child's team as a Team Parent. Your assistance is greatly appreciated so your team's Coaches are able to focus on the information on the field. Your main role is to serve as a parent liaison and facilitator of the league activities. Your role is important and Soldotna Little League couldn't do it without you!

The following is for the Team Parent, but is also great information for any parent that wants to know how they can volunteer to help out and fulfill the Soldotna Little League Volunteer Hours Requirement in order to be exempt from the Volunteer Fee.

Roles and responsibilities of Team Parent include:

• Set up and maintain Game Changer (optional, but recommended) by adding players/families info, add schedules, update scores, etc. (emailed information will be sent to you)
• Coordinate with coaches and families their practice and game schedules.
• Help the Player Agent in making sure all team families submit Emergency Medical forms along with the volunteer bond payment and form. (All players need this completed before they can practice/play.)
• Hand out and record uniforms, pants, and hats. Submit Jersey numbers to Player Agent.
• Coordinate team picture times, packets, and delivery. (detailed email near event)
• Track volunteer hours for each family and report to SLL Volunteer Coordinator mid-season and at the end of the season. (Form attached.)
• Coordinate game scorekeeping duties and pitch count with parent volunteer. Signed and dated by parent who recorded game. (Player Pitch Division and up)
• Coordinate home game field prep (dragging/raking, chalk lines, bases, pitching machine set-up and take down, & dugout/stands clean-up).
• Coordinate team fundraising/raffle ticket sales and be present with the team on assigned raffle day.
• Organize double header BBQ/lunch prep. (Upper divisions)
• Coordinate end-of-season Team Party/Picnic, Trophies, and Coach Gifts (if team desires).

As noted above, Team Parents will have the responsibility of tracking and managing volunteer hours for your respective team. There are many ways to volunteer. Visit our Volunteers Page on our website.
As the Team Manager, we are looking for you to reinforce the messaging of our volunteer requirements, and that if this commitment is not fulfilled, families will forfeit their $50 volunteer bond which will be cashed by the league at the end of the season to go towards the parks capital improvement projects. The requirement is applied per family, The following positions are exempt from the volunteer requirement, one each: Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Parent.

For tracking purposes, form will be added to the Team Parent Binder to use to input, track, and monitor volunteer hours. At the end of the season, the SLL Board Members will be verifying this log.
